Inspired by Aldo van Eyck’s piece, Place and Occasion, the following housing project was an exploration into the relationships between objects and places, looking at what fits one of those criteria, and how something might have the potential to fit into both. The following design concept is built on the idea of interrupting the scale of what should be literal to humans as objects. Applying matter of time to the subject warps our perception even more. A glass of water dropped on the concrete, frozen for a matter of a millisecond, is now a permanent place when scale is applied.
